30W

TL;DR

The GM Pro 30W is an integrated fiber marker with a 30W MAX source, one-touch autofocus, electric lift and a 150 × 150 mm field. Monport lists 10,000 mm/s, 0.08 mm maximum marking depth and M² below 1.5. At $1,999.99 on Monport's store in October 2026 it undercuts the split GT 30W by about $440. No colour marking: the source has a fixed pulse.

What makes this machine stand out

Hardware and workflow features worth understanding before you buy : not just wattage on a label.

  • Autofocus under $2,000

One-touch autofocus and an electric Z lift at $1,999.99 in October 2026: switching between a flat tag and a taller tool no longer means adjusting focus by hand.

  • Fine beam for detail

Monport lists M² below 1.5 for the 30W, the tightest of the two MAX sources in the line, which favours small text and dense QR codes over raw depth.

Our verdict

Ideal if you

The GM Pro 30W gives a small shop autofocus and a precise beam for the price of a basic manual fiber, which suits tags, tools and personalised tumblers well.

Skip if you

No colour marking, modest depth per pass and a 150 × 150 mm field. The specs are Monport's; no independent review yet.

Pros

  • Autofocus and electric lift for $1,999.99, about $440 less than the split GT 30W (Monport store, Oct 2026)
  • Tight beam (M² below 1.5) for small text, serial numbers and QR codes
  • Package includes safety goggles, positioning bars and test aluminum sheets

Cons

  • Q-switched MAX source with a fixed 80–120 ns pulse: no controlled colour marking
  • 0.78 mJ pulse energy and 0.08 mm listed depth: slow for deep engraving
  • Heaviest tier of the line at 17.1 kg despite the lowest power with autofocus

Pro tips

Start with Monport's material presets, then refine speed and frequency on test squares. Clean the F-theta lens regularly: residue from coated tumblers builds up quickly.

Common questions

How deep can the GM Pro 30W engrave?

Monport lists a maximum marking depth of 0.08 mm per job setting, with 0.78 mJ of pulse energy; deeper relief comes from repeated passes. In our benchmark estimate, a filled 10 × 10 cm logo on stainless steel takes about 4–11 minutes depending on fill density.

GM Pro 30W or GM Pro 50W?

The 30W ($1,999.99) covers marking, tags and light engraving. The 50W ($2,498) shares the field, chassis and autofocus but adds pulse energy (1.1 mJ vs 0.78 mJ) and a deeper listed mark (0.10 mm), which shortens deep logos and thin-metal cut-outs. For $500 more, the 50W is the better buy if engraving depth pays the bills.

Does the GM Pro 30W need an enclosure?

It is an open galvo with a Class 4 invisible beam. Monport includes safety goggles; an enclosure (Monport sells one for integrated fibers) is strongly advised if other people or pets share the room.
