Is the Atomstack A40 Pro 20W still worth buying used?
Only at a clear discount. The A40 Pro is no longer sold new (Atomstack now sells the A40 Pro V2, $769 machine-only in October 2026), so check that the laser module works, ask for the original power supply and assume no factory warranty. Below about $350 it is a reasonable engraving machine; above that, compare current 20W models with warranty.
How thick can the A40 Pro 20W cut?
Atomstack's marketing for the A40 Pro family quoted very thick one-pass cuts that apply to its top module, not this one. Our profile lists basswood up to 8 mm (several passes at that thickness) and dark acrylic up to 5 mm; our 3 mm basswood test square takes ~9–15 min.
On the used market, 20W or 40W A40 Pro?
