Gweike rates it for up to 5 mm on metal with enough passes. In its comparison video, two hours at 1,000 mm/s reached about 4.5 mm in brass, and one hour reached 3.2 mm in slate. Depth per pass is far lower: relief work means many repeated passes.
Can the 50W cut thin brass or silver for jewelry?
Thin stock, yes. Gweike's demo cuts 0.5 mm brass at 10 mm/s in 4 passes. Expect more passes on thicker or more reflective metals such as silver, and an edge that may need light finishing. It does not replace a sheet-metal cutter.
Is the G2 Max worth $700 more than the G2 Pro?
At $2,499 (Gweike US store, October 2026) against $1,799 for the Pro in the same 150 mm electric configuration, the extra money buys depth and fewer passes, not finer detail or colour. It pays off if you cut blanks or engrave deep every week; for surface marking the Pro does the same job.
