Coming soon
OMTech has announced this machine but it is not shipping yet. Specs and price may still change. Expected November 2026.
Dual laser in one cabinet (MOPA fiber + diode)
The Solis Duo 60W MOPA carries a 60W MOPA fiber source for metal marking and color, and a 40W diode for wood, leather and other organic materials. Both are built in and stay aligned; you choose one source per job, they are not swappable modules.
- 60W MOPA
- 40W diode
Listed as hybrid because two laser technologies share one machine, not because you pick 10W vs 40W on the same diode head. Modules vs hybrid vs power tiers →
TL;DR
The Solis Duo 60W MOPA is the new top version of OMTech's enclosed dual-laser line, listed in October 2026 and on preorder, with shipping announced for November 16, 2026. It pairs a 60W MOPA fiber (2–500 ns pulse width, 100+ colors on compatible metals, up to 0.5 mm deep on aluminum) with a 40W diode that cuts basswood up to 22 mm, in a Class 1 cabinet with autofocus, a 48MP camera and a touchscreen. OMTech lists 250 × 250 mm and 150 × 150 mm processing areas, 10,000 mm/s and 0.002 mm accuracy. Preorder price: $4,999.99, or $5,249.99 with a 250 × 900 mm conveyor (OMTech store, October 2026). No machine has been delivered and no independent test exists yet.
Best for
What makes this machine stand out
Hardware and workflow features worth understanding before you buy : not just wattage on a label.
MOPA color marking
The 60W MOPA source adjusts pulse width from 2 to 500 ns, which OMTech says gives 100+ color effects on compatible metals and up to 0.5 mm deep engraving on aluminum.
Two lasers, one focus
Autofocus sets the height once, and the MOPA and diode stay aligned, so you can mark a steel tag and then engrave a leather patch without refocusing.
Conveyor up to 900 mm
An optional 250 × 900 mm conveyor, sold in a $5,249.99 bundle or separately, extends the enclosed machine to long panels and batches of tags.
Our verdict
Ideal if you
On paper, the Solis Duo 60W MOPA matches xTool's F2 Ultra source for source, with a larger 250 × 250 mm area and a slightly lower preorder price. For a shop selling color metal cards and tags alongside leather patches and wood gifts, one enclosed machine with autofocus and a camera replaces two.
Skip if you
It is a preorder: nothing has shipped, and OMTech's dual-laser line has a shorter track record than xTool's. Camera placement is tied to OMTech's software, the fiber source warranty is one year, and at about $5,000 it only makes sense if metal color marking earns money.
Pros
- 60W MOPA with 2–500 ns pulse width: 100+ colors on compatible metals and up to 0.5 mm deep on aluminum, per OMTech
- 40W diode in the same cabinet cuts up to 22 mm basswood, and both lasers stay aligned: no refocusing when switching
- Class 1 enclosure, autofocus, 48MP camera and a 250 × 250 mm area, larger than the xTool F2 Ultra's 220 × 220 mm
Cons
- Preorder only: shipping announced for November 16, 2026, with no deliveries or independent tests yet
- The fiber source is covered for one year, against two years for the rest of the machine

Practical notes
Beginner notes
The 60W MOPA version is not shipping yet: OMTech announces November 16, 2026. If you need a dual laser now, the xTool F2 Ultra pairs the same 60W MOPA and 40W diode and is already delivered. Take the Solis Duo 60W MOPA if color marking on metal is part of your products; for simple black marks, a Q-switched fiber costs far less.
Pro tips
Keep separate settings libraries for the MOPA and the diode, and record pulse width with each color recipe: results change with the metal, finish and focus. Use OMTech Mark when you need camera placement, and LightBurn for the rest of your workflow if you already own a license.

Common questions
When does the Solis Duo 60W MOPA ship?
In October 2026, OMTech's store showed both packages on preorder with "Ships Nov. 16": $4,999.99 for the machine and $5,249.99 with the 250 × 900 mm conveyor (regular prices $7,399.99 and $7,699.99). Until machines reach buyers, dates and specs may still change.
Solis Duo 60W MOPA or xTool F2 Ultra?
Both pair a 60W MOPA fiber with a 40W diode in an enclosed cabinet. The Solis Duo lists a larger 250 × 250 mm area and costs $4,999.99 on preorder, against $5,299 for the dual-laser F2 Ultra on xTool's store in October 2026. The F2 Ultra has two 48MP cameras instead of one, and it is already shipping with owner feedback; the Solis Duo is not.
Which working area does the Solis Duo use?
OMTech lists two processing areas, 250 × 250 mm and 150 × 150 mm, and says the standard field lens gives 250 × 250 mm. It does not state which laser or lens the 150 × 150 mm figure applies to, so ask OMTech if your parts depend on it. The physical bed is 350 × 280 mm, and the optional conveyor takes parts up to 250 × 900 mm.

xTool · Hybrid · $4,299 – $6,969
xTool's flagship desktop dual laser: 60W MOPA fiber for color and deep metal marking, plus a 40W diode for wood and leather, in an enclosed 220 × 220 mm machine. Fast and precise, but priced for small businesses, not hobby use.

Creality · Fiber · $4,299
The 60W MOPA WaveSync head is Creality's top metal module for Falcon T1: pulse control for color effects on stainless and faster deep engraving than the 20W fiber option. For shops that already committed to the T1 chassis and need production metal throughput.
