It uses Ortur's LU2-4 module, rated at 5.5W optical, sold in SF (short focus) and LF (long focus) versions. In October 2026 Ortur's store listed both at $199.99, with the LF version out of stock. Check which version a used machine carries before buying spare lenses.
Can the LM2 S2 5W cut 3 mm plywood?
Just about. In our benchmarks a 10 × 10 cm square in 3 mm basswood takes about 9–15 min at 2–3 mm/s. Plywood, with its glue layers, usually needs two or three passes; anything thicker is not reliable on this module.
LM2 S2 5W or 10W: which should I buy?
The gap is small: about $70 on our tracked listings ($179–279 against $249–349). The 10W cuts our 3 mm square in about 6–10 min and fills much faster. Keep the 5W only for engraving-only use on a tight budget, where its fine spot is an asset.
