TL;DR
Ortur LM2 S2 10W is the higher-power SKU in the LM2 S2 family: better cutting on thin wood and quicker fills than 5W, still open-frame and budget-oriented.
Best for
What makes this machine stand out
Hardware and workflow features worth understanding before you buy : not just wattage on a label.
Big step for a small price gap
Roughly a third faster on 3 mm cuts and several times faster on fills than the lower-power LM2 S2, for about $70 more.
Good used value
Out of stock new in October 2026, it often shows up second-hand at entry-level prices with a large 400 × 400 mm frame.
Our verdict
Ideal if you
Ortur LM2 S2 10W suits makers who sell marks, photos, and gifts more than daily panel cutting. Reasonable open-frame entry price.
Skip if you
Skip if you already quote 4 mm+ cutting in production. Not for cast acrylic or bare metal without spray.
Pros
- Cuts 3 mm basswood squares in ~6–10 min in our benchmarks
- Filled engraving at ~60–150 mm/s: a 10 × 10 cm photo in ~12–18 min
- Same frame and accessories as the lower-power LM2 S2
Cons
- Ortur's LU2-10A listing was out of stock in October 2026
- Slightly wider ~0.08 mm spot: small text is a little less crisp than with the lower-power module
- Stock thicker than 5 mm needs multiple passes and air assist

Common questions
Is the LM2 S2 10W still available new?
Ortur's store listed the LM2 S2 with the LU2-10A 10W module at $209.99 in October 2026, but out of stock. Expect to buy it used or from remaining reseller stock; Ortur also runs pre-owned listings for its older machines.
How thick can the LM2 S2 10W cut?
Ortur's page shows 12 mm wood and 5 mm acrylic cut in one pass, but those images sit in the LM2 Pro S2 section and may not apply to this frame. In our benchmarks a 10 × 10 cm square in 3 mm basswood takes about 6–10 min at 4–10 mm/s; plan 3–5 mm in one or two passes.
Is the 10W worth it over the LM2 S2 5W?
For about $70 more on our tracked listings, yes in most cases: 3 mm cut times drop from 9–15 min to 6–10 min, and photo fills run at about 60–150 mm/s instead of 16–42 mm/s. The 5W only makes sense for engraving-only use on the smallest budget.

Ortur · Diode · $140 – $1,740
The 10W Laser Master 3 is Ortur's lower-power SKU on the same frame. Ideal for learning and engraving; cutters should choose the 20W version.

Sculpfun · Diode · $299 – $449
Sculpfun S9 10W is the 10W SKU on the Sculpfun sculpfun s9 line. Before S30 Ultra, the S9 was Sculpfun's workhorse. Verify optical power on the listing: do not assume combined-watt marketing.
