TL;DR

Sculpfun iCube Pro Max 10W is the 10W SKU on the Sculpfun sculpfun icube pro line. Sculpfun's enclosed desktop laser for makers who want the brand's cutting performance in a safer cabinet. Verify optical power on the listing: do not assume combined-watt marketing.

What makes this machine stand out

Hardware and workflow features worth understanding before you buy : not just wattage on a label.

  • Real light cutting in a compact unit

3 mm basswood squares in about 6–10 min in our benchmarks, rare for a machine this small.

  • Quick small batches

Fills of roughly 75–160 mm/s make series of tags, coasters and keychains fast.

  • LightBurn bundle available

Sculpfun sells a version with a LightBurn Core licence key, handy if you plan to work in LightBurn from day one.

Our verdict

Ideal if you

Sculpfun iCube Pro Max 10W suits makers who sell marks, photos, and gifts more than daily panel cutting. Enclosed format is easier to live with at home.

Skip if you

Skip if you already quote 5 mm+ cutting in production. Not for cast acrylic or bare metal without spray.

Pros

  • Cuts 3 mm basswood about twice as fast as the lower-power iCube in our benchmarks
  • Filled engraving at ~75–160 mm/s: coasters and tags finish quickly
  • Same compact footprint, smoke filtration and eye shield as the rest of the iCube range

Cons

  • Wider 0.08 mm focus: very small text is slightly softer than on the finest iCube
  • Long cutting runs produce more smoke than the built-in filter handles comfortably
  • Small working area caps panel size whatever the laser power

Common questions

Is the iCube Pro 10W the same as the iCube Pro Max?

Yes. Sculpfun sells the 10W version as the iCube Pro Max: a 10W diode with a 0.08 mm focus and the same 10,000 mm/min maximum speed as the 5W model. Sculpfun also sells it in a bundle with a LightBurn Core licence key, so compare bundles before comparing prices.

How thick can the iCube Pro 10W cut?

In our benchmarks a 10 × 10 cm square in 3 mm basswood takes about 6–10 min at 4–12 mm/s. Basswood up to about 5 mm is realistic in a few passes, thin black acrylic works, clear acrylic does not. The small bed is the bigger limit for cut projects.

When is the 10W worth it over the iCube Pro 5W?

As soon as cutting is more than occasional: it roughly halves 3 mm cut times (6–10 min against 9–15 min) and fills faster, for about $100–150 more on our tracked listings. If you only engrave small text and photos, the 5W's finer 0.06 mm focus is a real argument.

Sculpfun iCube Ultra 12W laser engraver by Sculpfun

Sculpfun · Diode · $299 – $499

The iCube Ultra is Sculpfun's enclosed compact laser: a 12W diode in a Class 1 box with door interlock, emergency stop, temperature sensor, auto-focus and a built-in carbon smoke filter, over a 150 × 150 mm bed. The Dual version adds a 1.2W 1064 nm infrared module for bare metal and plastics. Sculpfun claims 10 mm paulownia in one pass; an independent review cut 3 mm and 5 mm plywood cleanly at slow speed. Small bed and no honeycomb are the trade-offs.

Sculpfun S30 Ultra 22W laser engraver by Sculpfun

Sculpfun · Diode · $690

The 22W is the middle of Sculpfun's three S30 Ultra heads (11W, 22W, 33W), often sold bundled with LightBurn. The 33W head goes further for thick cuts. Listings that say S30 Ultra 10W or 20W are reseller labels.

Acmer P3 24W laser engraver by Acmer

Acmer · Diode · $765 – $1,658

The P3 24W puts a 24W diode module in Acmer's enclosed P3 cabinet: Class 1 lid with flame detection, CoreXY gantry at 800 mm/s, a camera covering the full 400 × 400 mm bed and 30 L/min air assist. Acmer rates it for 12 mm plywood and 8 mm black acrylic in one pass. At $765 for the Basic Pack (October 2026) it is one of the lowest-priced enclosed diode lasers with a camera; it suits makers who mostly engrave and cut thin stock.
